The heat has settled in the valley and all over the country. It’s a great time to think about booking a CBB Hut Trip!
The hut trips are set at higher elevations, so you can peddle in some cooler temps and enjoy the scenic views of the mountains. Are you interested to learn more? Here are five quick facts about our hut trips!
What Are Hut Trips? Our hut trips are 3-4 day bike adventures (depending on the one you choose). They are self-guided experiences where you set your own pace from one hut to the next.
Whats all Included? You start your adventure at the CBB shop in Fruita, Colorado! You’ll be transported to the first drop off location with as much explanation as you need on how to read the map. We take all of your overnight gear and drive it to the first hut. When you arrive at the first (and all other huts) you will find your belongings, fresh food to cook for dinner and breakfast, and an assortment of beverages. When you leave the hut the next day, we will transport all of your things to the next place. This allows you the best riding experience without all the extra weight of backpacking the gear and food yourself.
Do You Need to be an Expert? Not at all. We recommend an intermediate level of riding experience and a bit of stamina since you’ll be riding 10-20 miles per day.
When Can You Go? Hut trips are available June 1st – October 1st. Sometimes we get a late start due to snowpack, but we will let you know when you book if that is a concern the year you reserve your trip.
Is It Group Friendly? YES! This is the best experience to share with a group of friends. Our huts will fit 8 people in them, but it can be a tight squeeze. 4-6 people in a group is a great number.
Hut trips are a great shared experience! Talk to your friends, and plan a date that works best for you all. All you have to do is show up! We can provide bike rentals if you don’t want to ship yours, or we can reassemble your bike if you ship it to the shop. Whatever needs you have, we can probably accommodate them.
