What our guests say

4 Day Adventure!

Just got back from the 4 day trip. What a blast. I went alone and I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this but it’s doable. Kevin looks out for his clients. The weather can be an issue but short of altering weather, Kevin does everything possible to make it a fun and challenging time. He did his best to accommodate a low LDL diet which I greatly appreciate. I really can’t say enough good things about the trip, the organization, and the support. First class trip. Not too technical unless you want it to be.

Good trip for kids!

I just got back from a three day trip with CBB with my husband. They offer self-guided mountain bike trips with huts in spectacular and remote locations. They also schlep your bag, fresh food, and gear to each nightly destination. The riding is somewhat technical, but not too hard. I wouldn’t recommend this trip unless you are a decent rider who is comfortable navigating in the backcountry. The routes are higher in elevation than fruita, too, so they are perfect for summer months.

The huts are stocked with anything and everything you could possibly need from outdoor lounge chairs to Twix bars and organic tea. The fresh food is great with fresh fruits, natural meats, and ice cold, good, beer. Kevin, the owner, manages the rides flawlessly and is a great guy – he drops you at the start of the ride and is available if you have a problem or if you need a route change for whatever reason.

The huts sleep up to 8, but it would be cozy. I would say 4 would be the most comfortable. You can tell, from the visitor logs in the huts, that everyone who does the CBB trip has a great time. I’m already planning another CBB adventure, this time with my little boys.

Can’t wait to do this again!

Me and my 2 good buddies flew in from NJ to Grand Junction. From there we were picked up at the airport by a transport suggested by Kevin. From day one we had an awesome time. We rented 29ers from a local Fruita shop that hooked us up with some sweet trail bikes that were perfect for the terrain we would encounter. We acclimated with an afternoon at the road 18 trails on our first day and set our the following day for a 3 night hut to hut tour.

Kevin picked us up at the local hotel and drove us to the trail head. He supplied us with maps and a set of GPS way points that guided us flawlessly through the backcountry of western Colorado. Along the way we encountered big views, ranches, horses, elk hunters, a teepee, as well as many miles of sweet singletrack and some awesome jeep trails.

Our ride was supported by Kevin who provided on the fly route guidance as well as logistical support that included hauling our overnight gear from hut to hut, as well as providing ample fresh food and plenty of cold beer at each stop.

Fruita is an awesome destination in and of itself but the CBB hut to hut tour brings it to a whole new level.

My buddies and I had a thrilling, adventurous time which will never be forgotten. We challenged ourselves and had the time of our lives. You will not be disappointed with a tour from CBB from start to finish. Highlights from our trip included awesome singletrack, long grueling climbs, plenty of delicious beer, ample food and snacks, the wonderful people of Fruita, great pizza at Top Tomato, awesome Mexican food at a local Fruita restaurant, a killer 6 mile descent on a gravel road, and an awesome lunch at the Gateway Canyon Resort to end our trip.

I cannot wait to do this again.
